Doubting You

Doubting you, you doubt not still
God ever poised to do thy will
Your promises, they still remain
For you are evermore the same

Your love I see, but dimly veiled
Oh, God! My faith is often frail
But not my own is it to keep
For stronger you shall keep the weak

Please grant to me a trusting heart
Would greater faith you please impart
For me to day by day be less
And know that you are not impressed

By bad or good that I may do
But comfort find in what is true
That your own Son has died for me
And of His merit I stand free

To come to you of open arms
In times of calm and great alarm
And know that you are glad of me
For Jesus’ brother I shall be
